Hi, I’m Steph!
In my day-to-day, I’m a lawyer at a non-profit and have a demanding career that I love. I also have a wonderful partner, a home to take care of, and a small flock of chickens who seem bent on escaping into the neighbor’s yard every other day. My life is full. But somewhere between the deadlines and the email notifications, the yard that hasn’t been mowed in a month, and the constant, low-grade hum of Too Much, I’ve started to feel like I’m living at a speed I haven't actually chosen.
So I started making small changes. Spending more time in the garden. Blocking social media. Cooking more meals at home. Sitting with the quiet instead of filling it. Nothing dramatic — just gradually trying to move towards a life that feels more like mine.
Simply to Be is a space for me to share that journey. It's for people who want a quieter, more grounded life without abandoning the one they've already built. No grand gestures. No sudden move to a farmhouse in Vermont. Just the slow, imperfect, occasionally chicken-interrupted work of living more deliberately and more simply.
If that sounds like you, welcome!
